The FALL

Unseen in my descent.

A slight scar of light

Quickly absorbed by the night sky

I fell with only memories

Of that place of light and perfection

Blinding light, stifling perfection.

I fell in flames

towards the desperate disorder below.

Dionysos, bringer of ecstasy,

bloated by years of excess.

Once Beautiful.

Admired by all.

And powerful too.

Able to ensnare with his vines

As the dolphins who were once men can attest,

When they swim with grace and freedom.

Was that punishment?

Anyway, he is old now and knows better.

When he dreams, he dreams of his youth,

And swimming with the dolphins.

PAst Reconstructed

Don’t Listen to him

Tiptoe, we are safe while he sleeps

While he sleeps we are safe

I don’t know what I did!

All parents make mistakes

We listen from the next room.

To the sound of agonal breathing.
